The World's Columbian Exposition, also known as the Chicago World’s Fair, was organized in celebration of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s landing in America. Edna R. Ormsby of Chicago was a homemaker and amateur artist and the wife of school principal Fulton B. Ormsby; they had two children: Esther (b. 1891) and Stewart (b. 1894).
